Viva La Viagra
I was watching the third installment of the God Father Saga on the AMC channel last night and as usual a slew of commercials came on. A very commercial came on. It showed a married couple during their daily routine and how each one greeted each other when they came home from their day jobs. The commercial showed how the man and the wife greeted each other the very same way each and every day. This was to show the fact that their lives were pretty boring and there was not much excitement at all. After showing that this couple did the same thing every day, it shows the man driving into the drive way of their suburban home in a new Harley Davidson bike. The woman is very surprised and drops her grocery. She quickly walks up to her husband and starts smiling with him. The commercial later shows the two of them riding together on the motorcycle on the open road. It turns out that this is a commercial for erectile dysfunction and Viagra is being promoted. I was really surprised because I would have never thought that this was going to be a commercial for guys who have trouble” flying their flag”. When I think about it, this commercial is marketed to not just men but both men and women. You have the men who feel incompetent because they can’t “put on a good show “in the bed. This is also for the women who have to put up with men who can not perform and meet their needs. The happy wife is supposed to appeal to the female population with the men who have the problem. At the end of the commercial, you see that the couple riding on the motorcycle has stopped at a motel to “dance the tango” after their little excursion. The Viagra Company comes up with some really quirky ideas.

I see those commercials all the time. They lead you on this peaceful looking commercial and the at the end throws the Viagra tags... The trick me everytime.
i see those commercials alot to but it seems as if they try different ones and sometimes they never work but the other ones is crazy..
It's also interesting to me to note the channels and time slots that commercials for products such as viagra appear on television. It seems like almost every commercial break after midnight on channels such as Comedy Central features multiple commercials aimed specifically at a male audience, with a lot of "male enhancement" or "erectile disfunction" products being advertised. I don't know what they're trying to imply about the kind of people who are watching that specific channel at that specific time, but I do find it interesting how they're shown so much around that time slot and on certain channels.
