What I Expect Out of this Class
English has not always been one of my most favorite subjects ; however, it has always been one of the the subjects that I have performed well in. In high school , I was placed in Advanced Placement English courses for two years and I got all A's which I am very proud of. We dealt a lot with poetry and literary devices with strange names that are hard to pronounce. I truly enjoy reading and literature as well as poetry but I not always big on writing I guess you could say. I am the type of person who knows how to make a point and make my point very well. I know how to back up my information with amazing support and research evidence/ data. Summery writing is also something that I excel in which can sometimes become a problem. I am also a very good analytical writer, I can examine a piece literature and decipher things that are not usually picked up on as well as finding the theme of a work.I know how to say a lot in a very little amount of space which can sometimes leave me in a bad predicament which then leaves me trying to find ways to draw out a paper because it has to be a certain length. Other issues that I have with my writing is that I tend to be repetitive. I absolutely hate doing introductions to papers because it is so hard to get my ideas flowing in the very beginning and I absolutely hate writing conclusions because I am exhausted by the end of the paper. The body of the paper is where I feel the most comfortable. Sometimes when people read my papers , they think that it is really good but I usually think that it really needs a lot of work. I never seem to be happy with it. Hopefully, this class will help me build my writing skills to where I can feel a lot more confident about my writing. I really want to work on writing styles and word choice, literary and rhetorical devices , and poetry analysis. All in all , I want this class to help me with organizing my thoughts cohesively to make better college level papers that will have all my professors stunned at my eloquent use of the English language. I want professors to walk up to me and say, " Wow, Christen , it was truly a joy to read your paper. I could not put it down . Excellent "A" work. This would truly make my day. I have only used a movie in English one to do an archetypal analysis but I have never used a movie to base an entire class on . This will be very interesting.

Hey getting Advance Placement A's is impressive, but wouldnt that mean you don't have to take this class? I took US AP History and then didn't have to take US History in college.
Brian is right that is impressive and also you don't need to take this class. You seem like you have a pretty solid handle on your writing hopefully you will leave this class with something
You and I are on the same page.(If you read my blogs you will see.) I as well has always excelled in writting. While I was reading this blog,I could cleary tell by the vocabulary you use and your sentence structures that you are an excellent writter. I know you will keep up the good work!
